Iran: Senior IRGC commander warns unrest will begin from other cities, not Tehran

NCRI – A senior commander of Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) warned on Monday that “the unrest will begin from cities instead of Tehran” with “the living conditions” playing a major role. He described the next two months as “critical” for the regime.

IRGC Brigadier General Naser Shabani, in an interview with state-run ” Ghanoon ” newspaper on Monday, January 14, 2013, said: ” Our analysis is that various issues concerning the living conditions such as sanctions and mismanagements will be involved … and our assumption is that this time around the unrest will begin from the cities instead of Tehran, and it is possible that the issues concerning the living conditions will play major role and the poor and  vulnerable will participate in future unrest”.

The deputy commander of IRGC’s  “Imam Hussain University” pointed out the internal and external  crisis that Iranian regime is facing and described the next two months as “critical” for the regime. He said: ”if the situations in Iran, Syria and Iraq remains the same in the next two months then the West will invite us for cooperation.”
