Iran: Qazvin University students protest, demand chancellor departure

NCRI – Students at University of Qazvin held a sit-in on Monday to demand the departure of university chancellor that they accuse of being involved in repression of students.

Protesters accused Abdol-Ali Al-Bouyeh, the current chancellor, to be only focused on the control and repression of students and pay no attention to their scientific and educational needs.

Protesting students at the University of Qazvin in northwest Iran chanted “University is not a garrison. “

Also the instructors at the university protested against the lack of freedom, permanent controls to which they are subject and indecent conditions in which they work.

The protest continued until midnight on Monday.
