NCRI – The Iranian regime’s officials and state media announced on Tuesday that the number of victims of a deadly explosion last week at a coal mine in northern Iran has reached 43.

Reza Marvati, the Iranian regime’s Deputy Governor of Golestan Province, northern Iran, said seven more bodies were found in the Yurt Azadshar mine after the recent explosion.

“The bodies of seven more individuals were found inside the Yurt Azadshahr mine. They have been transferred out and now the number of deaths after this incident has reached 42,” he said according to the Tasnim news agency, affiliated to the Revolutionary Guards Quds Force.

The official state news agency IRNA quoted Hamidreza Montazeri, deputy emergency administrator in the province, as saying that in addition to the 42 confirmed deaths, another body was discovered at the site, bringing the tally of deaths to at least 43.

The Yurt mine is located 90 kilometers from the city of Gorgan, the provincial capital of Golestan. This mine had around 500 workers.
