Iran: Fishermen in the southern port of Chabahar face harder times

Sample ImageNCRI – More than 16,000 fishermen in the southern port of Chabahar face more difficulties providing for their families this year.

With the sudden drop in the price of each kilo for their daily catch to less than $2, they are experiencing even more problems this year since the price of other goods have sky rocked. Currently, each kilo of fish caught by the fishermen in Chabahar goes for 1500 Tomons ($1.5) as oppose to last year's 1890 ($1.8) just recently.

Mullahs' regime pays no heed to the fishermen's needs and it was last month that the State Security Forces (SSF) shot dead a fisherman in the northern port of Bandar Turkaman over what the local officials called illegal fishing.
