NCRI – Tuesday’s session in the Tehran City Council witnessed tension between rival factions.

“Reports indicate contracts have been signed and large projects started despite serious financial shortages,” said Council member Mohammad Salari.

“Salari must apologize from the other members. We demand our rights and will never be among the sedition. You were the ones setting mosques ablaze in 2009. You will pay for what you have said today,” said Reza Taghipour, another council member.

“If the mayor had any problem with it, why have you been silent in the past four years and just raising the issue now? You should have impeached him if you could,” said Mojtaba Shakerin, a third council member.
