NCRI - Following the death of dozens of miners in the Azadshahr Yurt mine of Golestan Province (northern Iran) Labor activist and political prisoner Behnam Ebrahimzadeh sent a message saying the Iranian regime is responsible for this tragedy.

Parts of this letter is as follows:

“All evidence indicates everything was anticipated prior to the incident. The miners had warned of the threat in this regard. However, each time the mine owners simply threatened to fire them.

“Therefore, the miners fell victims of those seeking even more wealth. Victims of viciousness and barbarism of those seeking to quench their unending greedy thirst.

“Along with the families of those who lost their lives, along with the miners, we should all rise in protest.

“We proclaim that all issues that threaten our safety must be resolved immediately and the government will be held responsible for any further incidents in the future.”
