Russia urges Iran regime to drop opposition to nuclear talks

Sample ImageNCRI – Russian Ambassador to the United Nations, Vitaly Churkin urged Iran's regime on Monday to drop its opposition to nuclear talks with six world powers.

"Their [Iran regime's] statements of a negative nature towards the [nuclear] negotiations are certainly not helpful and not constructive," Vitaly Churkin told reporters in United Nations headquarters' in New York.

On March 3, the UN Security Council adopted its third resolution imposing sanctions against the ruling mullahs in Iran.

The third resolution underlined the contents of the previous resolutions and reiterated that the regime had not cooperated with the additional protocol and not complied with the mandates of the IAEA Board of Governors.

The resolution sanctioned 13 individuals working for the Iranian regime and ten industrial firms which were involved in the nuclear programs.

It also asked the member states to refrain from permitting the Iranian air and sea cargos from entering their ports and airports and subject them to thorough inspections.

The resolution warned the member states from entering into financial transactions with the Iranian banks.
