“No to nuclear bomb, yes to democracy and human rights in Iran” – Italian radio

ImageNCRI – "Zapping," a program on the Italian national radio launched a campaign four months ago entitled "No to nuclear bomb, yes to democracy and human rights in Iran" in which many Italian political and human rights figures as well as Iranian individuals were interviewed.

The Italian National Radio 1 with over two million listeners attracted many to the state of human rights in Iran and the threats of fundamentalism posed by the clerical regime in that country. The radio initiated a petition on Iran which received widespread support from across the county and up to now over 70,000 people have supported it.

While condemning the efforts by the Iranian regime to acquire nuclear weapons, the statement also expresses grave concern over the gross human rights violations in Iran which includes execution of juveniles.

The petition also notes that the Iranian Resistance have been calling for the referral of the Iranian regime to the UN Security Council for its human rights record and nuclear programs and adds that Europe is also moving in this direction.

The radio reiterates that its campaign is aimed at drawing the attention of public opinion to the state of human rights in Iran and the regime’s nuclear threats in order to avoid a new war in the region and isolate the tyrants in Tehran.
