Poll: Most Americans doubt nuclear deal will stop Iran regime’s bomb

A Majority of Americans doubt that the nuclear agreement reached between the Iranian regime and group of 5+1 countries with prevent Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, according to a ABC/Washington Post poll out Monday.

Over 56 percent of Americans questioned in the survey support the deal lifting sanctions on Iran in exchange for new limits on its nuclear program, while 37 percent oppose it, according to the survey.

Only 6 percent are “very” confident the nuclear deal prevent the Iranian regime from developing nuclear weapons, while another 29 percent are “somewhat” confident it will do so.

The survey released Monday of 1,002 U.S. adults was conducted July 16-19 via landlines and cellphones with an overall margin of error of 3.5 points. 

According to a Fox News poll, published on July 17, a majority of American voters don’t trust the Iranian regime and worry the Obama administration was willing to give too much to get a deal on Iran’s nuclear program,

The poll, conducted 13- 15 July, finds 80 percent of voters think Iran cannot be trusted on the issue of nukes.

At the same time, 68 percent are concerned the White House has been so eager to get a deal that economic sanctions against Iran are being eased too much.

Overall, 37 percent of voters say the administration’s actions on Iran have been “about right,” and hardly any — three percent — say the White House has been “too aggressive.”

The Fox News poll was based on landline and cell phone interviews with 1,019 randomly chosen registered voters in U.S.
