Main Iranian bank in Germany banned by 27 EU countries, “significantly expanded” sanction to come

NCRI – The European Union diplomats announced that 27 EU member countries will significantly expand their sanctions against the Iranian regime.

Reuters reported on 19 May from Brussels that according to the diplomats, because of “growing frustration among Western powers with a lack of progress in nuclear talks with Tehran,” 27 EU member states “are set to add about 100 companies to the bloc’s embargo list.”

European Union’s sanctions will include Germany’s Hamburg-based Europaeisch-Iranische Handelsbank (European-Iranian Trade Bank) which is Iranian regime’s main breezeway connected to the international banking system.

One of the diplomats said: “There would now be enough evidence that the bank financed companies involved in Iran’s nuclear program.”
