Key Security Council members agree text on Iran nuclear crisis – envoy

Agence France Presse – The five key members of the Security Council reached agreement here Wednesday on a statement urging Iran to abandon uranium enrichment activities and hope to have it approved by the full council later in the day, Britain’s UN envoy said.

Emyr Jones Parry told reporters that the five permanent veto-wielding members of the Council — Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States — "have reached an agreement on a text" and will recommend to council colleagues this afternoon.

"Our hope is that this will be adopted as a presidential statement later this afternoon," he added.
