Kerry: US ‘will not lift sanctions’ on Iranian regime without evidence

The US is working with Congress on keeping pressure on the Iranian regime through sanctions, but also wants flexibility for talks, a US official has told Reuters.

Secretary of State John Kerry added that the US would not lift sanctions without “verifiable, accountable, and a transparent process” to ensure that Iran is not pursuing nuclear bombs.

Speaking later in an interview with CBS, Mr Kerry urged Iranian regime to immediately open up Fordow Enrichment Plant to inspections by the UN nuclear watchdog.
