Vienna demonstration in support of Iranian Resistance call for referral of mullahs' regime to Security CouncilIranians residing in Austria called for immediate referral of the clerical regime’s nuclear case to the United Nations Security Council in their demonstration in front of IAEA’s office in Vienna on Monday, August 9.

Supporters of the Iranian Resistance also called on the European Union to end its policy of appeasement of the clerical regime and stop dealing with mullahs which has gone on for the past 21 months.

Protesters chanted “Ahmadinejad is a terrorist” and emphasized that Ali Khamenei, regime’s supreme leader, had appointed the Revolutionary Guard Ahmadinejad as his new president in order to proceed with the regime’s nuclear project to acquire atomic bomb. The regime considers nuclear arms as a tool to maintain its rule in Iran and export terrorism and fundamentalism abroad. Demonstrators also condemned abduction of two members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran in Baghdad who are recognized as protected persons under the Fourth Geneva Convention. They held Iraqi government responsible for their safety and called on the Coalition Forces to act to secure their release immediately.

In a declaration adopted at the end of the demonstration supporters of the Resistance reiterated that the clerical regime intends to complete its project to acquire nuclear weapons and gain further economic and political concessions from Western countries.

The declaration stressed that the PMOI, the main force in the Iranian Resistance, which unveiled the clerical regime’s secret nuclear program in August 2002 for the first time, should be removed from the terrorism lists in Europe and the United States. It also noted that the terror label is one of the main concession to the mullahs by the West and it was solely done to appease the mullahs.

The declaration was submitted to the spokesperson of the IAEA by Dr. Manouchehr Fakhimi, representative of the Association of Iranian Experts in Vienna.
