Iranian regime will not implement Additional Protocol, lawmaker says

NCRI – A member of the Iranian regime’s parliament dismissed reports that the regime might intend to accept the Additional Protocol to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Hossein Naqavi Hosseini, member of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said on Monday that the Iranian regime “it will never accept the Additional Protocol.”

His remarks came after a number of western media said that the mullahs would ratify the additional protocol and commit to more IAEA inspections.

The Additional Protocol requires States to provide an expanded declaration of their nuclear activities and grants the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency broader rights of access to sites in the country.

Despite the fact the President Barack H. Obama spoke Friday with Hassan Rouhani by phone, U.S. National Security Adviser Susan Rice has said that there was “every reason” to doubt the Iranian regime’s “peaceful intentions.”
