Iranian regime must prove its nuclear program is peaceful: Medvedev

NCRI – The Iranian regime must prove that its nuclear program is peaceful and that it is ready to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has said, according to RIA Novosti on Saturday.

After attending a meeting of the NATO-Russia Council in Lisbon, the Russian President said his country will monitor the nuclear programs of some countries, including the Iranian regime, jointly with NATO.

In his meeting with the mullahs’ President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Medvedev had said that the regime must prove its program is peaceful and that it is ready to cooperate with the IAEA.

“Jointly with NATO states, we will closely watch the development of various programs by other countries. We are not indifferent to… what the planet’s nuclear potential looks like,” Medvedev told journalists on Saturday.

Euro News also reported that, after meeting with European officials, the Russian President said that Moscow and NATO will act jointly on the Iranian regime.
