Iran: Hassan Rouhani phone call to Obama was inappropriate, mullahs’ FM says

NCRI – The telephone call to President Obama by Hassan Rouhani was a mistake, the Iranian regime’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said.

The Vice-Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mansour Haqiqatpour said on the Tuesday: “Zarif did not say that what they did was inappropriate (during Hassan Rouhani’s visit to New York).”

“But admitted that, given the remark by Supreme Leader (Ali Khamenei), answering Obama’s phone call and the prolongation of the meeting with (US Secretary of State John) Kerry have been wrong,” said Haqiqatpour on Tuesday.

Further elaborating on the Zarif’s explanations at the parliamentary commission, Haqiqatpour said he also believed his meeting with the US Secretary of State John Kerry, too, should have finished in four, five minutes, and considered his long talks with his US counterpart as another example of an untimely action.
