NCRI – Negotiations over the Iranian regime’s nuclear program have failed and sanctions against the regime will be intensified, a senior former official at the regime’s Foreign Ministry was quoted as saying on the weekend.
In an interview with a state-run news agency, Iran Diplomacy, published on Saturday, Mohammad Sadr, Former Deputy Foreign Minister of the regime, referred to the failure of talks in Istanbul last week and said, “In the past, our goal in negotiations was to prevent the imposition of international sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as the passing of international resolutions. Unfortunately, this happened and sanctions have been harming the country’s economy.”
He added, “Negotiations have to occur with the goal of resolving problems and suspending and later annulling previous sanctions against our country in order to save the country from the economic, political and international isolation that has sadly gripped our country over the past 6 or 7 years. Since we could not accomplish this, it means that the talks over the past several years have not been successful. This has led to our country becoming the subject of more sanctions every day, bringing serious problems for Iran.”
Reacting to ludicrous claims by the mullahs’ President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad about “managing the world,” Sadr added, “Saying that we will participate in talks about managing the world and such remarks are meant to have domestic consumption and are short-term propaganda.”
The former Deputy Foreign Minister of the regime also referred to the lack of confidence in the international community with regards to the regime and its plots, saying, “They say that this government is essentially unpredictable by virtue of its positions. And an unpredictable government is a potential danger for the region and must be confronted with.”
