IRAN PROTESTS:

In Fear of People’s Unrest in Election 

Yesterday, the state-run Fars news agency reported that more than 280,000 police will be on alert on the election day. Some “60000 police are on alert particularly for countering any anti-security movement,” said the Deputy of Law Enforcement Force of the Iranian regime.


On February 21, 2020, the deputy of Law Enforcement Force in the Province of Semnan said that in other to secure the election a combination of Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and Basij, a paramilitary organization affiliated to the IRGC, have been used.  

Locals say that about 70 anti-tank vehicles and 300 security motorbikes have arrived in Lordegan, a small town in south-west Iran, ahead of the elections, suggesting state fear of the outcome. 

Tensions have been simmering in the county after regime authorities caused an HIV crisis in October, inflicting hundreds of residents with the deadly virus.

Corona Virus Spreads in Iran 

While the Iranian regime tries to hide the real figure of affected people by the Corona virus, news from Iran indicates that the number of affected and deceased persons is increasing.  

The NCRI stated that the residents of Qom put the number of deaths at 12 and those infected at more than 200.  

Meanwhile, Kuwait’s Health Ministry has orderecanceling all flights to Iran. Earlier, Iraq had already cancelled all flights to Iran.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?

Friday, February 21, 2020, marks the 99th day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 724 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.
