Jailed human rights defender Behnam Mousivand, has started on a hunger strike following his abrupt transfer to Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj.

Behnam Mousivand was held at ward 8 of Tehran’s Evin Prison. He was taken to the prison’s infirmary on Saturday, August 29, after showing symptoms of COVID-19 including fever and chills.

Amid the rising discussion about re-imposing sanctions on the Iranian regime, it is necessary to understand why it is important for the United Nations to reimpose all sanctions on the mullahs’ regime.

On Tuesday, the parties to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal held their joint commission in Vienna amid the rising issue of re-imposing sanctions on the Iranian regime. Iranians in Austria held a protest outside of the building and called for re-imposing all sanctions on the regime. In addition, in a statement, over 100 lawmakers from European and Arab countries urged the UN to reimpose all six Security Council resolutions on the regime. But why is it important.

The number of victims in Khorasan Razavi is 7,029, Khuzestan 6,572, Mazandaran 4,776, Lorestan 4,330, Gilan 4,082, Sistan and Baluchestan 3,069, Fars 2,764, Kermanshah 2,336, Kerman 1,573, Central Province 1,283, Ardabil 1,202, Semnan 1,272, Zanjan 944, and South Khorasan 567.

Friday, September 4, 2020, marks the 293rd day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE UPRISING:

Number of uprising cities: 191

Number of martyrs: At least 1500

Number of injured: More than 4,000

Number of detainees: More than 12,000
