Call for urgent action to save the lives of political prisoners in Qarchak

A reliable report says the lives of political prisoners in Qarchak Prison are in danger. The NCRI Women’s Committee calls for urgent action to save the lives of these prisoners.

Mehdi Mohammadi, the Warden of Qarchak Prison, and his deputy, Mrs. Mirzaii, have paid common prisoners convicted of dangerous crimes to brutalize and murder Zahra Safaei, her daughter, Parastoo Mo’ini, and Forough Taghipour, the report says.

The dangerous inmates have been ordered to incite fights during which they could kill the said political prisoners in Qarchak Prison.

Following the unfair sentences issued for three brothers who had participated in protests in Shiraz in 2018, Navid Afkari and his brother, Vahid, have sent letters and tape recordings out of prison, revealing their tortures at the hands of their interrogators.

Navid and Vahid Afkari are accused of killing an agent of the Water and Sewage Department for participating in quelling the protests. This is a charge which both of them have rejected and pleaded not guilty. However, their pleas fell on deaf ears.

The number of victims in Tehran is 23,755, Khorasan Razavi 6,944, Khuzestan 6,547, Mazandaran 4,756, Isfahan 4,400, Lorestan 4,276, Gilan 4,057, East Azerbaijan 2,862, West Azerbaijan 2,664, Hamedan 2,522, Kerman 1,563, Central Province 1,273, Zanjan 929, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 687, and South Khorasan 532.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?

Wednesday, September 2, 2020, marks the 291st day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.
