Iran: Coronavirus Update, Over 38,000 Deaths, May 1, 2020, 6:00

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) announced this afternoon, May 1, 2020, that Coronavirus has taken the lives of more than 38,000 in 309 cities across Iran.

Coronavirus outbreak in Iran

The death toll in various provinces include: 6,400 in Tehran, 3190 in Qom, 2630 in Gilan, 2,360 in Mazandaran, 1250 in Alborz,1170 in East Azerbaijan, 990 in Sistan and Baluchistan, 420 in Bushehr, 270 in Ilam, and 122 in South Khorasan. This is in addition to cases registered in other provinces.

Security forces at Khoy Prison abruptly transferred Kurdish political prisoner Zeinab Jalalian to an undisclosed location

It is suspected that Zeinab, a political prisoner, has been transferred to a Tehran prison for questioning on new charges.

Coronavirus death toll in Tehran alone surpasses regime’s total death toll in Iran.

PMOI/MEK—April 17, 2020:  The coronavirus death toll in Iran has surpassed 30,700.
Yet Iran’s regime continues its cover-up declaring the total death 4,869 as of April 16
Even regime’s officials reject regime’s death toll.
Nahid Khodakarami, head of the health committee of the Tehran City Council, in an interview with Shargh daily: Between 70 to 100 people  die every day in Tehran due to COVID-19 disease.
A report from inside the regime in Gilan province: To obtain the real death statistics in Iran, the regime’s statistics must be multiplied by a factor of 5 or 10.

Iran: Alborz Province Death Toll Amid Coronavirus Crisis

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran PMOI/MEK announced on April 22, that the coroanvirus death toll has reached  33,800
According to the MEK, so far 1195 people have lost their lives in Alborz province alone.
Yet, the regime puts the death toll in Alborz province at under 500 but according to document obtained by the MEK around 30 people are dying and buried in Alborz province daily because of coronavirus.
Out of this number, 20 were diagnosed with the coronavirus and 10 suspected of being infected.
Instead of helping the people, the regime continues its cover-up and has increased opressive measures.
As Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran said
For Khamenei and Rouhani, the lives and well-being of the people are worthless.
They only want to protect their regime from the threat of uprising.

In four out of 138 hospitals in Tehran receiving Coronavirus patients, 1,400 have died
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced on Thursday, April 30, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 308 cities in Iran had exceeded 37,600. The number of victims in Tehran is 6,330 people, Mazandaran 2,345, Khuzestan 1,810, Golestan 1,220, Fars 975, Sistan and Baluchestan 940, Lorestan 875, Semnan 865, Kurdistan 625, Zanjan 485, and Kerman 425.

“Damn the criminal mullahs who are worse than the coronavirus, Cholera”: MEK Resistance Units

While the Iranian regime’s failure during the coronavirus crisis has caused public outrage in Iran, the Iranian people and the PMOI/MEK network inside Iran highlight the solution for Iran which is the overthrow of the mullahs’ rule. They took to graffiti in public places writing messages of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and NCRI President Maryam Rajavi.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?

Friday, May 1, 2020, marks the 169th day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE UPRISING:

Number of uprising cities: 191

Number of martyrs: At least 1500

Number of injured: More than 4,000

Number of detainees: More than 12,000
