Iran’s Regime Tries to Spread Despair Among People With COVID-19, NCRI’s Free Iran Global Summit Foiled This – Remarks by Rudy Giuliani
Rudy Giuliani in the Free Iran Global Summit – July 17, 2020

According to information tallied by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), over 77,000 people have lost their lives to the COVID-19 pandemicThe high mortality rate in Iran is indeed the direct result of the Iranian regime’s deliberate inaction and cover-up of the novel coronavirus since its outbreak.

The Iranian regime is engulfed with crisis. The country’s economy is collapsing due to the regime’s misuse of funds and institutionalized corruption. People are grappling with COVID-19, economic hardship, and oppression. Fearing the eruption of a new uprising, and to legitimize its rule, the regime and its apologists try to discredit their viable alternative.

In this regard, Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former New York City mayor, made important remarks on the first day of the “Free Iran Global Summit.”

Maryam Rajavi: By his fatwa for the 1988 Massacre, Khomeini intended to annihilate the PMOI/MEK generation to guarantee his rule.

In those very days, Montazeri wrote him that the Mojahedin were a type of logic which could not be annihilated by killing, but would further propagate.

The Iranian regime’s fear of MEK’s growing influence

The Iranian regime’s hysterical reaction to the MEK’s Free Iran rally shows Tehran’s fear of the Iranian opposition

In the last 41 years, there has never been a single day that the Iranian regime hasn’t spread propaganda and psychological warfare against the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). But the wave of slander that the regime has been directing toward the main opposition in the past week has reached an unprecedented scale.

During the Friday prayers of July 24, regime authorities expressed their fear for the growing support of the MEK which the annual meeting of the Iranian Resistance, the “Free Iran Global Summit 2020,” which connected 30,000 places in 102 countries, including Iran and Ashraf 3, the headquarters of MEK members in Albania.

The Friday prayer imam of Natanz said: “[The MEK] want to harm our social wealth such as the Supreme Leader [Ali Khamenei] and the Guardian Council, and the [MEK] are seeking public protests.” Khamenei, the top leader of the regime, has the final say on all critical manners. The Guardian Council, whose 12 members are all directly or indirectly selected and approved by the office of the supreme leader, oversees all branches of the government.

Iran concerned over trial of diplomat terrorist Assadollah Assadi in Belgium

Asadollah-Assadi-a-diplomat-terrorist-of-the-Iranian-regime-is-on-trial-in-Belgium-facing-terrorism-charges
Asadollah Assadi, a diplomat-terrorist of the Iranian regime, is on trial in Belgium facing terrorism charges

Kayhan daily, the known mouthpiece of Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, published a piece on July 25 expressing grave concerns over the trial of the mullahs’ diplomat-terrorist Assadollah Assadi and three other operatives facing bombing/terrorism charges in Belgium.

“Finally, following Mr. Assadi’s illegal detention for the past two years, he and three other defendants in this case, each being ordinary individuals living in Europe and have no legal acquaintance with this diplomat, appeared before court for their supposed arraignment hearing. The court was held behind closed doors in the city of Antwerp of Belgium and several senior [opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK)] officials and members separately presented their remarks and claims against Mr. Assadi to the court. It is worth noting that even holding a court trial and prosecuting an Iranian diplomat during his mission abroad is unprecedented in the Foreign Ministry’s history and anywhere in the world. Despite having a diplomatic passport, Mr. Assadi has been illegally detained for over two years, first in Germany and then Belgium. His court hearings have begun in the past few days,” the piece wrote.
