Iran: Coronavirus Update, Over 68,800 Deaths, July 10, 2020, 6:00 PM

NUMBER OF VICTIMS (AS OF July 10, 2020, 6:00 PM CEST):

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) announced this afternoon, July 10, 2020, that Coronavirus has taken the lives of more than 68,800 in 342 cities across Iran. The death toll in various provinces include: 17240 in Tehran, 5140 in Khorasan Razavi, 2505 in Lorestan, 2030 in West Azerbaijan, 2010 in East Azerbaijan, 1650 in Hamedan, 1550 in Fars, 970 in Semnan, 855 in Kerman, 750 in Hormozgan, 695 in Bushehr, 220 in South Khorasan. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

Iran: The NCRI and MEK Summit Is Opportunity for the West to Offer Overdue Solidarity With the Iranian People

On July 17, Iranian expatriates throughout the world will hold a series of simultaneous gatherings, all of which will be livestreamed as part of the “Free Iran Global Summit.” The networked global event constitutes a socially distanced alternative to the international rally that is usually held each summer by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

Organizers anticipate that the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic will actually increase overall participation as people travel to historic locations within their home countries or organize domestic viewing parties, rather than traveling to France from throughout the world.

Arrest of MEK Supporters Is Sign of Iran Regime’s Fear of Organized Resistance

Reports from Iran indicate the Iranian regime has started a new wave of arrest and issuing prison sentences for supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and other former political prisoners.  

The regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) raided the homes of several former political prisoners, MEK supporters and relatives of MEK members, along with relatives of political prisoners.  Zahra Akbari, the wife of political prisoner Abolghasem Fooladvand; Dr. Hani Yazarlou, and his son, Hood; Ms. Sedigheh Moradi; Mehdi Khawas Sefat; Mohammad Wali Gholamnejad; and Ms. Farangis Mazloom, mother of political prisoner Sohail Arabi, have received prison sentences.

Iran: Regime Intelligence Ministry, Judiciary Arrest and Issue Prison Sentences for the Supporters and Families of the MEK

The Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) and the Judiciary have begun to arrest and issue prison sentences for the supporters and families of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and those who have signed the statement of incarcerated and released prisoners.

The desperate effort comes after the failure of the anti-MEK slanders and a fake petition signed by 8,000 so-called families of the MEK members and on the eve of the Iranian Resistance’s Free Iran Global Summit in solidarity with the Iranian people’s uprising.

• At least 350 people have died to Coronavirus in the past seven days in Shiraz
• The Health Ministry announced an unprecedented rise of 221 new deaths in the past 24 hours
• Health Minister: We receive security reports. It is serious that people are reaching eruption from poverty. The president and the security forces must think about (people’s) livelihoods to prevent an eruption.
• Health Minister: I have not been in front of the camera for a long time because I am both angry and heartbroken. A Health Minister should only pay attention to health issues. WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?

Friday, July 10, 2020, marks the 237^th day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.
