NUMBER OF VICTIMS (AS OF Aug 19, 2020, 6:00 PM CEST):
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced this afternoon, Aug 19, 2020, that Coronavirus has taken the lives of more than 91,200 in 394 cities across Iran. The death toll in various provinces include: 6536 in Khorasan Razavi, 6259 in Khuzestan, 4333 in Mazandaran, 3996 in Isfahan, 3831 in Gilan, 3762 in Lorestan, 2926 in Sistan and Baluchistan, 2695 in Alborz, 2653 in East Azerbaijan, 2645 in Golestan, 2573 in Fars, 2339 in Hamedan, 2185 in Kermanshah, 1824 in Kurdestan, 1199 in Hormozgan. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

To Stop Executions in Iran Permanently, World Should Hold Mullahs To Account for 1988 Massacre
The Iranian regime executed a woman and three men on Tuesday. Previously, on August 5, Mostafa Salehi, who was detained in the 2018 major Iran protests was executed. The mullahs’ incessant executions and human rights violations will continue as long as they enjoy impunity over 1988 massacre of political prisoners.

10 years ago Khamenei said that the court was a sham and its verdict would be rejected
On Tuesday, August 18, a UN-backed court at the Hague announced its verdict in the case of the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri. The former Lebanese prime minister was killed in a terrorist attack in Lebanon in February 2005. In addition to Hariri, 21 people lost their lives and dozens more were injured.
Concerning the court ruling, Mr. Mohammad Mohaddessin, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said:
“Despite all the limitations and sabotage, the court’s ruling left no doubt that this great crime was committed by the Hezbollah, which is part of the Iran regime’s Revolutionary Guard Corps. (IRGC).

Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Plant Workers Strike Continues for 18th Day in 23 Cities and 12 Provinces
Strikes and protests by Haft Tappeh sugarcane, Arak Hepco, and Saveh profile workers
On Tuesday, August 18, 2020, workers and employees of oil and gas refineries, petrochemical and power plants in 23 cities in 12 provinces and in 54 sites and centers continued their strike for the 18th consecutive day. Despite all the threats and hollow promises of the regime agents and affiliates to end the strike, the workers maintained their unity and insisted that they would continue to strike until their demands were met.

Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 394 Cities Surpassed 90,700
Reza Malekzadeh, Deputy Health Minister: The government wants to normalize the situation with health protocols, unaware that 26 provinces are in red and under alert conditions. The transmission of the virus has increased three to nine times, and the medical staff and equipment are worn out and cannot deal with the third wave of the virus outbreak in autumn. Mourning ceremonies and the reopening of schools and universities are creating severe crises. (Setareh Sobh daily, August 18)
- Alireza Zali, head of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce in Tehran: Alborz Province, is also in a state of red and on alert due to its proximity to Tehran. The Coronavirus outbreak in these provinces will continue in the coming weeks. (IRNA, August 18)
- Qom University of Medical Sciences: The number of patients in this Province has increased fivefold. In the next 50 days, the Province will be in a similar situation as February-March. (Aftab-e Yazd daily, August 18)
- Head of East Ahvaz Health Center: A significant number of patients are still in ICUs. If we have another outbreak, it is not clear what will happen during the next peak. (ISNA, August 16)

EDITORIAL: Iran Regime’s Oppression and Execution Are a Continuation of Its 1988 Massacre
The regime of Iran executed Mostafa Salehi on August 5 for his participation in the nationwide Iran protests in 2017-2018, despite international protests. Five other detained protesters have also been sentenced to death, and they are currently in prison.
Protests erupted in over 200 cities across Iran in November 2019, in reaction to the increase of fuel price. The Iranian regime started massacring protesters on the streets to crack down on these protests. And in an obvious massacre it killed over 1500 protesters. Thousands of others were arrested and sent to prison, dozens were killed under torture, and thousands are still in prison under torture and threated to be executed.

They paid tribute to the struggle of the Iranian Resistance by holding up signs and took to graffiti with the slogans of the Iranian Resistance Leaders Massoud Rajavi and Maryam Rajavi. WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?
Wednesday, August 19, 2020, marks the 277th day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.
