COVID-19 Crisis in Iran: Officials Acknowledge Regime’s Intentional Cover-Up to Control Uprising
COVID-19 death toll in Iran has surpassed 85,500, according to reports published by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran. Since the beginning of the novel coronavirus outbreak, the Iranian Resistance has highlighted the regime’s deliberate inaction and cover-up of the true dimensions of the crisis. State-Run Jahan-E-Sanat Newspaper Was Banned Over the Publication of an Interview
Mohammad Reza Saadi, director of the state-run Jahan-e-Sanat newspaper, announced that the newspaper had been banned by the clerical regime.
He said: “Today, Monday, August 10, at a meeting of the Press Supervisory Board, due to the publication of an interview in yesterday’s issue (Sunday, August 9, 2020), “The Jahan Sanat newspaper was temporarily banned.”
Mohammad Reza Saadi added: “So far, I have not received a written verdict and the verdict has been issued only orally by the Secretariat of the Supervisory Board.”
In a report published in the Jahan-e-Sanat newspaper entitled “We do not trust government statistics” Mohammad Reza Mahboobfar, a member of the National Coronavirus Combat Task Force, said, “In late December, precisely one month before the official announcement of the emergence of Coronavirus in the country, the first case of an infected patient was identified. At the time, however, the Government engaged in a cover-up because of political and security reasons… Regrettably, since the very beginning, there was no transparent public information effort. Most certainly, since the start of the virus in the country, these figures have been engineered. In any case, these figures are injected into society according to political and security considerations. In my view, the figures announced by the Ministry of Health (the number of those infected and dead) is one-twentieth of the real and actual figures.”

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Sunday, August 9, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 373 cities across Iran had surpassed 85,500. The number of victims in Khuzestan is 5,932, Mazandaran 3,994, Gilan 3,607, Lorestan 3,482, Sistan and Baluchestan 2,696, Golestan 2,332, Kermanshah 2,090, Kurdistan 1,749, North Khorasan 1,287, Bushehr 1,030, Zanjan 811, Ilam 680, and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 567.
Regime analyst worried about MEK’s appeal among Iranian women, girls
One of the Iranian regime’s documentary makers, Iman Goudarzi, acknowledged that the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has succeeded in gaining appeal among women and girls in Iran. While the regime’s state-run media try to portray the MEK as an unpopular and dead movement, Goudarzi acknowledged that the movement is gaining popularity across the country and the regime’s own officials are witnessing the growing role of the MEK in organizing protests across Iran.

Monday, August 10, 2020, marks the 268th day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.
