How Iran Regime Uses Its Embassies for Terrorism – Remarks by Tom Ridge at Free Iran Global Summit

Over the past 40 years, the Iranian regime has been using its embassies throughout the world for the export of terrorism and assassinating its opponents. Following the nationwide Iran protests in 2018, during which the Iranian Resistance played a leading role, the crisis-riddled regime in Tehran has increased its terrorist activities against its viable alternative. These terrorist plots are in line with the regime’s incessant demonizing campaign against the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and desperate attempts to tarnish the Resistance’s image, thus, legitimizing terrorism against the Iranian opposition and its members.

State-Run Jahan-E-Sanat Newspaper Was Banned Over the Publication of an Interview

Today it was announced that the state-run Jahan-e-Sanat newspaper was banned over the publication of an interview in which it was acknowledged that regime is covering up the fatality statistics of coronavirus and the official statistic of fatalities is one-twentieth of the actual statistics
Mohammad Reza Saadi, director of the state-run Jahan-e-Sanat newspaper, announced that the newspaper had been banned by the clerical regime.
He said: “Today, Monday, August 10, at a meeting of the Press Supervisory Board, due to the publication of an interview in yesterday’s issue (Sunday, August 9, 2020), “The Jahan Sanat newspaper was temporarily banned.”
Mohammad Reza Saadi added: “So far, I have not received a written verdict and the verdict has been issued only orally by the Secretariat of the Supervisory Board.”
In a report published in the Jahan-e-Sanat newspaper entitled “We do not trust government statistics” Mohammad Reza Mahboobfar, a member of the National Coronavirus Combat Task Force, said, “In late December, precisely one month before the official announcement of the emergence of Coronavirus in the country, the first case of an infected patient was identified. At the time, however, the Government engaged in a cover-up because of political and security reasons… Regrettably, since the very beginning, there was no transparent public information effort. Most certainly, since the start of the virus in the country, these figures have been engineered. In any case, these figures are injected into society according to political and security considerations. In my view, the figures announced by the Ministry of Health (the number of those infected and dead) is one-twentieth of the real and actual figures.”

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, NCRI President-elect:

Another mistake was the western government’s appeasement of the Iranian regime in previous years. In fact, it was not the power of the regime that made the expansion of its terrorism and fundamentalism possible, it was the appeasement policy.
