The Iranian Resistance Units, a network of activists of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) across Iran, have been organizing various activities that are louder calls for regime change. The Resistance Units commemorated the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in the summer of 1988 based on a fatwa by Khomeini. The Resistance Units bravely took to graffiti in public places with the slogans: “The 1988 massacre, the greatest unpunished crime against humanity,” “we have called for the prosecution of the masterminds and perpetrators of the 1988 massacre, this great crime against humanity,” “The blood of the martyrs of the 1988 massacre gives rise to uprisings in Iran,” “The sacred blood of those martyrs of 1988 gives rise to rebellious youths who are motivated and inspired by it,” “We will neither forgive nor forget the 1988 massacre of political prisoners,” and “Ali Khamenei, your end is near.”

Disinformation Persists About the MEK Despite Growing Challenges
In the past two years, at least two major publications have been admonished by courts for spreading false information about the leading Iranian opposition group, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI-MEK). In March 2019, and again in June 2020, a German court handed down sentences which threatened financial penalties of up to 250,000 Euros each unless Der Spiegel and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung removed a number of allegations from their articles on the MEK and its recently-completed headquarters in Albania, known as Ashraf 3.

Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 347 Cities Exceeds 80,100
- Khamenei brazenly absolved the regime of responsibility for the Coronavirus and said that some people have severely suffered. This must be compensated by the people; it is not possible to put all the burden on the government and semi-governmental institutions
- Alireza Zali, head of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT) in Tehran: Tehran Province and the city have been red in recent days; Karaj has similar conditions, which makes things harder for the capital. Due to the proximity of Tehran Province to Qom, Alborz, Semnan and Mazandaran provinces, it is more difficult to control the epidemic.
- Islamshahr Governor: We are in a tough and difficult period in dealing with the Coronavirus, and it is much more exhausting for the medical staff to endure these difficult conditions and continue working.
- Coronavirus continues to take lives in Fars Province, especially in Shiraz. Bank employee’s situation is the worst. In the last two weeks, 157 bank employees in the province have been infected and this figure is increasing exponentially.

Iran: Families of five protesters sentenced to death are worried about their loved ones
Reports indicate the families of five protesters, sentenced to death for their participation in the December 2017 / January 2018 nationwide uprising in Iran, are extremely concerned about the possible secret executions of their loved ones. These family members and others have been rallying outside the Isfahan judiciary building for days now.
Friends and relatives of these five inmates, held in Isfahan Central Prison, indicate authorities have banned these inmates from phone calls with their family members. Authorities have also dispatched numerous security forces to the town of Nikbakht, the hometown of these five prisoners, and remarks made by a number of regime officials in the judiciary of Isfahan in their talks with the family members have raised increasing concerns about the possibility of the five being executed in secret.
