Iran: Coronavirus Fatalities, April 2, 2020, 6:00 PM CET

NUMBER OF VICTIMS (AS OF APRIL 2, 2020, 6:00 PM CET): 

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) announced this afternoon, April 2, 2020, that Coronavirus has taken the lives of more than 16,100 in 237 cities across Iran.

The death count in different provinces include: 655 in Alborz, 425 in Ardabil, 32 in Bushehr, 2080 in Tehran, 210 in North Khorasan, 690 in Khuzestan, 110 in Semnan, 160 in Sistan and Baluchistan, 110 in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, 1300 in Mazandaran, 35 in Hormozgan, at least 320 in Yazd. This is in addition to the death toll in other provinces.

On Wednesday night, reports from Iran, published by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), indicated that soldiers in the army’s bases in Urmiain north west Irandeserted their base. Soldiers in Birjand in South Khorasan Province, eastern Iran, also escaped their base.

Riot in Ghezel Hesar Prison of Karaj, west of Tehran, Iran

April 1, 2020: Source indicates a riot broke out in the facility’s “Death Row Hall” & authorities dispatched armed guards to the rooftops. Hygiene conditions are atrocious as & the status quo is very tense, source adds.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced this afternoon, April 1, 2020, that the fatalities of Coronavirus have risen to more than 15,500 in 237 cities across Iran.

The number of victims in East Azerbaijan is 200, Alborz 620, Isfahan 1560, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 50, Khorasan Razavi 1205, Khuzestan 660, Fars 260, Qazvin 260, Qom 1650, Kurdistan 260, Kerman 180, Kermanshah 415, Golestan 750, Gilan 1460, Lorestan 420, Central Province 250, and Hamadan 315.

Inmates riot in Sheyban Prison of Ahvaz, southwest Iran

Inmates of Sheyban Prison in the city of Ahvaz, located in Khuzestan Province of southwest Iran, launched a riot on Tuesday, March 31. The sound of gunfire and tear gas was heard from inside the facility at 5 pm local time. The mullahs’ regime dispatched many security units to encircle Sheyban Prison with numerous layers of various forces in a desperate attempt to both control the situation and prevent any leak of information to the outside world. Locals reported hearing inmates shouting and protest to the prison authorities.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?

Thursday, April 2, 2020, marks the 140th day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE UPRISING:

Number of uprising cities: 191

Number of martyrs: At least 1500

Number of injured: More than 4,000

Number of detainees: More than 12,000
