Despite full readiness of suppressive forces, rebellious youth turned this year’s Fire Festival (Charshanbe Suri) into a fiery uprising against the regime of the mullahs throughout the country
They attacked Basij, IRGC, and SSF centers, and set fire to pictures and effigies of Khomeini and Khamenei
Despite the preparedness of the Revolutionary Guards, the State Security Force (SSF), the Ministry of Intelligence, and other security organs, and the dense presence of suppressive forces, according to reports received from various provinces and cities from the very moment after sunset, rebellious youth have turned the Charshanbe Suri (Fire Festival) ceremonies into a fiery uprising against the anti-Iranian regime of the mullahs. The PMOI social headquarters inside the country had called for a “Nationwide Fiery Fire Festival Campaign” on February 20, 2024.
In all provinces and many cities including Tehran, Isfahan, Qazvin, Kermanshah, Kerman, Yazd, Gorgan, Arak, Dezful, Mianeh, Bandar Abbas, Borujen, Jahrom, Mashhad, Babol, Yazd, Semnan, Khash, Rasht, Yasuj, Bushehr, Shiraz, Kermanshah, Shahriar, Borujerd, Hashtgerd, Ahvaz, Tabriz, Urmia, Khansar, Kerman, Sari, Kashan, Karaj, Shirvan, Sanandaj, Saveh, Qom, Miandoab, and Jiroft, youth celebrated Charshanbe Suri by lighting fires, chanting anti-government slogans, and writing graffiti on city walls. They targeted the centers of IRGC, Basij, SSF, Headquarters of Khomeini’s Order, and Seminaries associated with the mullahs, or set fire to pictures and effigies of Khomeini and Khamenei In Kash, the youth set fire to tires and chanted the slogans “Hail to Rajavi” and “Death to deceitful Khamenei the Antichrist”.
The mullahs’ regime, terrified by potential uprising in the Charshanbe Suri, deployed plainclothes patrols and motor patrols of Basij forces and special units of the SSF in various areas of Tehran from the early hours of Tuesday, March 12. In many areas such as Damavand Street, Simetry Niroyeh Havai Ave., Pirouzi Street, and Emamat Square, Basij paramilitary forces have set up checkpoints, and joint patrols of SSF and Basij and special units of NOPO have been deployed. At the Hafez-Mossadegh intersection, SSF forces raided young people celebrating Charshanbe Suri and arrested several individuals. In Naziabad, Tehran, SSF, fearing the wrath of youth, removed two police containers from the site.
