NCRI – Iranian political prisoner Hassan Sadeghi has written a letter from Iran’s notorious Gohardasht Prison in Karaj, north-west of Tehran, to Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi criticizing him for planning to visit Tehran on Tuesday to expand trade ties with the mullahs’ regime.

The following is the English translation of Hassan Sadeghi’s letter to the Prime Minister of Italy:

To: Mr. Matteo Renzi, the Prime Minister of Italy

Dear Prime Minister,

As far as I know, you intend to travel to Iran. Well, I must say, welcome here! Although I am not quite aware of your objectives, I very well know that your country, Italy, is known to be one the most democratic European countries.

If you aim to bring democracy or peace to the godfather of ISIS here, then I suggest you not to squander your time. If you happen to have other purposes and decide to come anyway, then I ask you to accept my invitation, come and pay us a visit so I could from here draw your attention to the nature of this corrupt regime. In case you are told by your host that Gohardasht (Rajai Shahr) prison is quite far from your location, then I ask you to go to the women’s ward in Evin Prison and meet my wife there. By then, you will fully realize the nature of this regime.

Even if they prevent you from such visitations, still no problem! In this case, I ask you to pay a visit to my two children who are living in Tehran without the presence of their parents so you could see with open eyes who the oppressor is and where the real ISIS is located today.

Hassan Sadeghi, political prisoner in Gohardasht (Rajai Shahr) Prison, Karaj

The National Council of Resistance of Iran in a statement last week urged Mr. Renzi to cancel his trip to Iran.

Hassan Sadeghi’s father Gholamhossein Sadeghi was a longtime member of the main Iranian opposition group People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK) in Camp Liberty, Iraq, who passed away due to the medical blockade on the camp.
