Zurich City Council condemns executions in Iran

NCRI – In protest against secret hanging of Hojjat Zamani, a member of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran held as political prisoner for almost five years in Iran, supporters of the Iranian Resistance staged a rally outside Amnesty International office in Zurich, Switzerland, on Monday.

The gathering was initiated by Zurich City Council and participants chanted "Stop massacre of political prisoners in Iran," and pledged to continue on the path of Hojjat Zamani until Iran was free of clerical dictatorship.

Part of a report by the City Council which reflected on concerns expressed by human rights organizations on political executions in Iran was read out at the rally.

At the end of the rally a delegation on behalf of the City Council and supporters of the Iranian Resistance submitted a letter to the head of Amnesty International office in Zurich urging the rights body to intervene to stop execution of political prisoners in Iran.
