Workers protests continue in Iran

NCRI – Iranian workers in several Iranian cities staged protests against their working conditions and non-payment of their salaries.

Workers at Behshahr Textile Factory in northern Iran have not received  their salaries and benefits properly for the past 4 years. 520 workers of this factory staged a protest outside the Behshahr govenor’s office on May 12.

In southern city of Gonabad, workers of Road Building Company gathered outside the city’s Welfare and Employment office on May 15. They have not received their salaries for 6 months and have no insurance and job guarantees.

Workers at Pars-Garma Road Building company in Kohgilooye and Boir-Ahmad, central Iran, gathered in the city center on May 12 since they have not received their salaries for 4 months.

In eastern city of Zahedan, workers at branch 547 of Cooperation Company protested against non-payment of their salaries for 2 months, according to Ilna news agency, May 15, 2007.
