Call for urgent action for his release and transfer to hospital

While the life and health of political prisoner and PMOI supporter Mehran Gharebaghi are in danger due to a severe heart condition at Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz, the henchmen are preventing his temporary release and transfer to a hospital for access to a doctor and medication.

Mehran Gharebaghi, 32, who was arrested in 2019 and has been in prison for over four years, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison by the regime’s judiciary. In addition to his heart condition, he also suffers from eye pain and scabies, which are a result of the poor sanitary conditions in the prison.

The Iranian Resistance calls for urgent action by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Human Rights Council, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran, and other human rights defenders to secure the release of Mehran Gharebaghi and his transfer to a hospital.
