NCRI – Ms. Suheir Attassi, a member of the Syrian opposition High Negotiations Committee, has sent a message of solidarity to the Iranian Resistance, which is hosting a major demonstration in Paris on July 9th. Ms. Attassi has condemned the theocratic dictatorship in Iran for its human rights abuses, export of terrorism and its complicity with Bashar al-Assad, who has killed many innocent Syrians.
Ms. Attassi’s message was broadcast this week by the Iranian opposition satellite channel Simaye-Azadi. She said that:
“The Syrian opposition’s message is that regardless of whatever the Iranian and Syrian regimes do, in the end, those Iranian and Syrian people who want freedom should build solidarity with each other. These regimes cannot disrupt and sabotage the solidarity between peoples. So the Syrian and Iranian people who are well represented today in the Iranian Resistance have practically demonstrated that they are united in confronting regimes which kill innocent people and partake terrorism. Subsequently, the theocratic dictatorship and the Assad regime are state sponsors of terrorism.
“When the mullahs’ regime dispatches Special Forces and Iranian Revolutionary Guards to fight in Syria, they want to distract the public from any movement within Iran that seeks to eradicate their oppressive regime. But do not think that they will succeed in this. We have today taken continued and sustained steps to prevent the success of their efforts.
“We certainly hope and urge all Iranians who support freedom and democracy to participate in this great gathering. We want to be their voices in solidarity with the Syrian people who are facing oppression and are under siege. Siege is a war crime; a strategy of the mullahs’ regime. Besieging innocent civilians is a deadly weapon and a strategy that the Assad regime has learned from the mullahs’ regime,” she added.
