Reports of unrest in western Iran

unrest in IranNCRI – On Monday, April 9, hundreds of angry protesters stormed the regional offices of the Justice Ministry and local police stations in Marivan (western Iran) located in the Kurdish region.
The protest followed the police shooting of a man while driving a vehicle. The car driver named Bakhtiar died of gunshot wounds and another person was critically injured in the incident. The residents gathered at the site of the shooting and angry protesters attacked the government buildings.

On the same day, more than 1500 Iranian teachers staged a protest demonstration in Farhang street, near the Regional Education Office in Hamedan, western Iran. The teachers demanded release of their fellow teachers who had been arrested in a previous demonstration demanding higher salaries.
