Rally in California supports democratic change in Iran

NCRI – A group of Iranians in northern Californian staged a rally in Palo Alto on Saturday to condemn Iranian regime’s terrorism and meddling in Iraq. The participants called on the UN Secretary General and the Iraqi authorities to take measures to guarantee security for members of the main Iranian opposition residing in Iraq in Ashraf City.

On May 29 a bus carrying Iraqi laborers working for the People’s Mojahedin of Iran in Ashraf was blown up by a road side bomb killing 11 and wounding 15 others in the bus. This horrific crime was widely condemned by political figures and organizations across the world. Hundreds of Iranians also held rallies in major cities around the globe to condemn this terrorist attack by agents of the religious dictatorship in Iran.

In Pal Alto rally the participants held banners in support of democratic change in Iran as proposed by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran. The rally was widely supported by the local people who agreed that the solution to the problem in Iran is neither war or appeasement of the fundamentalist mullahs’ but changed through people and their resistance to establish lasting peace, security and democracy.
