Preventing treatment of another political prisoner may lead to amputation of his leg

NCRI – As a result of preventing a political prisoner from receiving proper medical treatment, implemented by the criminal agents of the mullahs’ regime at the Evin Prison, he may soon lose one of his legs due to severe infection.

After a long period of suffering and tolerating excruciating pain, Mehdi Kuhkan, a political prisoner in section 350 of Evin Prison, whose right leg was severely damaged as a result of torture, was finally transferred to a hospital where they did a procedure on his leg, but was sent back to the prison prior to improvement of his condition.

Kuhkan wrote in a letter that because of preventing the full treatment, his leg is now severely infected and if they continue to prevent further treatments, his leg might have to be amputated. He added in his letter that: “Of course, this issue and even further infection of my leg which may lead to amputation, is not at all important to the prosecutor. Before me, some of my fellow political prisoners such as Mohsen Dokmehchi, Alborz Ghasemi, Hassan Nahid, and recently, Huda Saber went into critical conditions due to lack of proper medical treatment and lost their lives.
