Rally in BrusselsNCRI – In bitter winter cold of Brussels, on Tuesday, 15,000 Iranians packed the area outside EU headquarters in Schumann Square.  They had come from different European countries to celebrate the People's Mojahedin Organization (PMOI) victory over what seemed an impossible task even to the most optimistic supporters of the movement. NCRI – In bitter winter cold of Brussels, on Tuesday, 15,000 Iranians packed the area outside EU headquarters in Schumann Square.  They had come from different European countries to celebrate the People's Mojahedin Organization (PMOI) victory over what seemed an impossible task even to the most optimistic supporters of the movement. The 27-nation EU bloc, in an unprecedented move, bowed to seven court rulings in favor of the main Iranian opposition group battling to clear its name of an unjust terrorist tag after seven years.

The mood was one of jubilation and prides among the crowd many dancing to music aired by huge loudspeakers hanging from cranes to cover the entire square.

Not far from the rally, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, Iranian Resistance's President-elect, was the keynote speaker at a press conference held by the European committee "In Search of Justice" (ISJ), which represents some 2,000 Parliamentarians from all member states of the bloc. in Brussels' Residence Palace.

Mrs. Rajavi said that after seven court rulings in Europe and the removal of the PMOI from the terrorist lists of the UK and EU, the inclusion of the PMOI on the blacklist of the US State Department is unjustified more than ever. The most important element of change in the policy of the US and the new President toward Iran should be to abandon the policy of appeasement of the mullahs and remove the terror label from the PMOI, she added.

Dozens of lawmakers from parliaments in Europe as well as jurists and human rights activists were present at the conference. They pledged their unequivocal support for the Iranian Resistance.

While chanting slogans in support of the PMOI, the protestors at the rally demanded that the EU recognizes the Iranian Resistance which strives to establish a democratic and secular state.

An old woman participant struggling with the chilly winds said, "It is only the beginning. Rights of our children must be respected in Ashraf city. They are my heroes and I would give my life for them."

Schumann was not quiet until early evening hours as demonstrators happy with the outcome of their day-long celebration got ready to leave. A 15-year-old boy and his two brothers were planning to place an emblem of the PMOI atop their family car on their way home to show off their victory.
