Iranian supporters of the main opposition group People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) living in Canada rallied over the weekend against human rights abuses and rising executions in Iran.

They declared their support for the political platform of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran.

They urged the international community to support Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s 10-point plan for a future free Iran.

Since the nuclear deal last month between the mullahs’ regime and the major world powers these grave human rights violations have sharply increased.

Twice last week, the fundamentalist authorities amputated a prisoner’s right hand and left foot and bragged about doing so in their state media, and on August 1 the regime sentenced a man to have his eyes gouged out.

Iranians rallied in Ottawa and Montreal on Saturday reiterating their call for the release of political prisoners in Iran.
They carried large signs reading: ‘Mullahs leaders must stand trial for crimes against humanity’ ‘Political prisoner must be freed’ ‘stop execution of children in Iran.’

They also demanded United Nations protection for PMOI (MEK) members under siege by the Iraqi forces affiliated with the Iranian regime at Camp Liberty, Iraq.

Camp Liberty, located near Baghdad international airport, houses thousands of members of the PMOI (MEK) who are recognized as ‘asylum seekers’ and ‘people of concern’ by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
