Iranian exiles took part in a rally in London’s Parliament Square and St James’ Square on Thursday, February 4, to protest against the presence of an the Iranian regime’s Foreign Minister at the Supporting Syria and the Region conference.

Iranians, taking part in a rally organized by National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), stressed that Iran has been the main supporter of Syrian dictator, Bashar Assad and has facilitated the massacre of the Syrian people.

They also underscored the gross violations of human rights in Iran during the tenure of Hassan Rouhani as the president of the clerical regime in Iran.

Since Hassan Rouhani has taken office over 2200 prisoners have been executed including minors and women.

Hossein Abedini, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said: “It is absolutely outrageous that Zarif is a part of the conference, when he is part of a regime that has sent thousands of people to fight in Syria to slaughter the Syrian people.”

“The regime in Iran has been sending tens of billions of dollars to [President Bashar al] Assad so it is illogical and irrational to involve him in the conference – it is like inviting an arsonist to put out the fire.”

Many members of the British Parliament and human rights activist joined the rally and supported their demands.
