According to news agencies, Azim Aqajani, a member of the Qods Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was arrested last October for smuggling weapons to Nigeria under the guise of a merchant.
He had requested to put up bail for his release until the court date, but the Nigerian police refused.
He is set to appear in court on Monday in Nigeria.
The United Nations has sent an envoy to the African country to investigate the arms shipment from the regime since it violates Security Council resolutions against the clerical regime.
