New York Rally says no to Iran regime no to war

New York Rally says no to Iran regime no to warNCRI – Iranians gathered outside the UN Headquarters when the mullahs’ president Ahmadinejad was to deliver yet another pack of threatening remarks at the world forum on Tuesday, called for an end to appeasement of the clerical regime in Iran. They warned that the regime is determined to acquire nuclear weapons and ongoing futile attempts to bring the medieval regime in line with the international community’s requirements would only provide it with time to complete its nuclear weapons program.

Reporting the rally, the Aljazeera TV network noted that the strongest criticisms against leaders of the Iranian regime came from hundreds of Iranian opponents who carried portraits of the leaders of the Iranian Resistance, Massoud and Maryam Rajavi. The report reflected the mood of the demonstrators who were openly calling for a regime change in Iran.

"Any conciliation with the Iranian regime on behalf of the United Nations would lead to strengthening of the regime and eventual war," a participant in the rally told Aljazeera.

"We want no war and no foreign intervention in Iran, all we want is a regime change through Iranian people," said another demonstrator to the Arab TV network.

Speaking about the mood, the U.S. publication, The Nation, referred to the Iranians gathered in Dag Hammarskjold Plaza and wrote: "The mood at the Rajavi gathering was buoyant and optimistic." It added that supporters of Maryam Rajavi in the rally "played music and danced, and waved signs with Rajavi’s attractive face on it."
