Mr. Rajavi:
– To avert further bloodshed and corruption, dismiss Khamenei, temporarily install Montazeri in his place,
– Immediately dissolve the illegitimate Assembly of Experts
NCRI – In a statement broadcast last night by Iran National Television (Simay-e Azadi), the Iranian Resistance's Leader, Massoud Rajavi, offered an advice and two suggestions to the Chairman and members of the Assembly of Experts in what he described as "an ultimatum to be recorded in the annals of history."
Mr. Rajavi said: “As an advice, [let me say] believe me, as far as this regime and absolute clerical rule are concerned, just like the Shah's Monarchy, the water is already over the dam. It would be better for you gentlemen to be contemplating about ways to reduce the weight of your sins before the Almighty and the Iranian people instead of arousing further hatred, aversion and notoriety for yourselves.”
He added: “I recommend the following: In view of the recent edict by Mr. [Hossein Ali] Montazeri, which implicitly calls for the dismissal of [the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali] Khamenei, … in order to avoid further bloodshed, oppression, and corruption by the latter, you should:
“Firstly, hold an extraordinary session of the Assembly of Experts to depose Khamenei and temporarily install Mr. Montazeri, who has higher credentials than all of you, in his place in order to pave the way for free UN-supervised elections based on the principle of people’s sovereignty;
“Secondly, after adopting this decision, immediately dissolve the Assembly of Experts and rid yourselves and the clergy from this illegitimate institution”.
Mr. Rajavi prefaced his message by saying that he finds it extremely difficult to be addressing members of the Assembly of Experts, an institution which symbolises the usurpation of the right to people’s sovereignty. At any rate, he added, it is hoped that in the midst of the people’s uprising, some of them have heard the sound of the uprising. Thus, he offered the advice and suggestions on behalf of the Iranian people and all those sentenced to death and tortured as well as all political prisoners.
