Maryam Rajavi’s new book highlights vision of a leading role for ’emancipated’ woman in a new Iran

NCRI – Iranian Resistance President-elect Maryam Rajavi’s new book revealing her vision of a free and democratic Iran based on gender equality and the emancipation of women has been published in France.

In ‘Women against Fundamentalism’, Mrs Rajavi stresses that any new, pluralistic Iran can only exist is women are given an equal role in society. In the preface to the book, French academic Françoise Héritier writes: “The battle to overturn the religious dictatorship and install democracy is an urgent issue in Iran and exposes the need for the emancipation of, and equality for, women.

“Peace, development and democracy are only achievable with the emancipation of woman, sexual equality and a leading role for women.

“Ignoring this necessity would only give a green light in to violence and medieval dictatorship.

“Maryam Radjavi has been leading the fight against the religious dictatorship in Iran for many years.

“With her vision of a tolerant and democratic Islam, she threatens fundamentalism, and equality of the sexes is at the root of her battle.

“In recent years she has been leading a political and judicial campaign in Europe and the USA for regime change and for the rights of the Iranian people to be recognised.”
