Maryam Rajavi meets with Jean-Claude Mignon, President of the PACE

Mrs Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, met and talked with Mr. Jean-Claude Mignon, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, at the Council’s headquarters in Strasbourg.  Mr. Jean-Claude Mignon is also a member of the French National Assembly.

In this meeting held on Monday, the increasing human rights violation and executions in Iran, crime against humanity at Camp Ashraf, the mullahs’ intervention in the region especially in Iraq and Syria, and the regime’s efforts to obtain nuclear weapons were discussed.

Mrs Rajavi called on the Council of Europe and the member states to intervene to act to secure the release the seven Camp Ashraf hostages held by Iraqi forces.

She also urged action to provide protection for members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Camp Liberty.

The president of the parliamentary assembly of the Council of Europe expressed his hope for realization of democracy and human rights in Iran and emphasized that the Council of Europe will immediately follow and address the issue of the seven Camp Ashraf hostages and security for the Camp Liberty residents.
