Maryam Rajavi calls for urgent aid to Iran earthquake victims

NCRI – The Iranian Resistance has called on all Iranians to help the victims of the devastating earthquake which struck the country’s Sistan and Balouchestan province on Tuesday.

Mrs Maryam Rajavi, The President-elect of the Iranian Resistance sent condolences to families of those lost in the earthquake. And said bringing aid to those killed and injured in the disaster was a ‘national duty’.

She said that the dictatorship ruling in Iran is failing to either help build seismic-resistant building or help the victims of the latest earthquakes.

Mrs Rajavi said on Tuesday: “Considering long delay by the mullahs’ regime in providing assistance, and its anti-human attempt to present casualties and damages as being low, it is essential to have independent aid.

“The non-resistant structures of urban and rural houses, as well as severe incompetency of aid from the regime has left our fellow citizens across Iran with no protection against repeated earthquakes.

“These are yet more consequences of the destructive policies of the Velayat-e Faqih, in country that spends all its money on repression, assassination and nuclear weapon production.”

Initial independent reports said that Tuesday afternoon’s earthquake said it was one of the most severe for 50 years – yet the regime’s officials insisted they had received no reports of casualties.
