NCRI – Following a hunger strike and acts of resistance displayed by political prisoners, as well as other protests in Iran in addition to international pressures to release political prisoners in Iran, the Iranian regime was forced to release one of the prisoners.
Currently, 17 political prisoners are on hunger strike at the notorious Evin Prison in Tehran.

Babak Bordbar, who was one of the 17 hunger strikers, was released from Evin prison after an initial refusal by prison authorities.
16 others are still on hunger strike, insisting that they will not end their protest until their demands have been fully met.
Separately, recent eyewitness reports indicate that the clerical regime’s agents have displayed their rage against slain political activists by pouring acid on at least one of their graves which belongs to Kianoush Asa, a young university student who died under torture during last year’s popular protests. Asa was a student at Science and Industry University.
