Italian Parliamentary Committee Urges International Accountability for Iran’s Repression

In a statement, the Comitato Interparlamentare per un Iran Libero (CIIL) expressed deep concern over the Iranian regime’s escalating repression and its sinister plans against members of the Iranian Resistance residing in Europe.

In the communique, the Italian parliamentary committee stated that as the anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s killing and subsequent protests approaches, the Iranian regime has become more desperate and aggressive. Fearing a new uprising and seeking to divert international justice from its own atrocities, it has intensified its demonization campaign against the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

The CIIL statement calls for the regime’s leaders to be held accountable in an international tribunal for their involvement in terrorist attacks abroad and their repeated, severe human rights violations inside Iran.
