Iraqi human rights organization demands US delisiting of PMOI (MEK)

NCRI – An Iraqi human rights organization based in Baghdad called on the US to remove the Iranian opposition group the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) from their terrorist list, Jordanian Arabic-language news website Al-Malaf reported on Wednesday
The president of Shafaq, said in a telephone interview: “Despite that the organization and its members in Camp Ashraf and Liberty are being subjected to genocide and gross violations of their rights, they are far from being terrorists.”

«Despite the fact that the United States has the responsibility of protecting the rights of innocent people of Camp Ashraf against any attacks, they have deliberately ignored their responsibility”
He said that the past events have shown that residents of Camp Ashraf and Camp Liberty have become “the victims of behind the scene political games.”
He added that we ask the US to immediately remove the PMOI from its terror list and place the Iranian regime on the list. The Iranian regime is the head of terrorism in Middle East.
”Removing this organization from the terror list will create a major change in the humanitarian situation of this organization and will force Iraq to improve its behavior towards this organization”, he said.
The president of Shafaq organization added” The Iraqi government with the backing of the Iranian regime uses the terror listing to massacre the innocent residents in these two camps.”
