The event was held at the headquarters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the French weekly Le Parisien reported on Wednesday.

The participant, two by two, and hand in hand, in turn jumped over bonfires marking the arrival of the Iranian New Year beginning March 21.

For Iranian opposition activists residing in Auvers-sur-oise since 1981, the celebration is more than a tradition, it is a genuine act of resistance, the report said.

“In Iran the youth have turned the Fire Festival into an act of opposition against the regime, which tries in to prevent the celebrations in every possible way," Le Parisien quoted Mrs. Rajavi, the president-elect of the NCRI speaking to the jubilant participants in the event.
