Iranians in London celebrate Nowrouz

NCRI – Anglo-Iranians celebrated Nowrouz – the Persian New Year – at an event in north London on Saturday March 26.

Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK) and the Iranian Resistance from across the UK took part in the event held in Finchley.

The renowned Iranian singer Marjan gave a wonderful performance, enlivening the atmosphere at the Nowrouz celebration.

A group of Iranian youths who only recently fled Iran performed a number of Iranian folkloric and traditional ethnic dances.

The young Iranians expressed their abhorrence at the restrictions imposed on the people of Iran, in particular on Iranian youths, by the mullahs’ regime. They said that the oppressive mullahs are against Iranian arts and culture.

They welcomed the event organized in London and they expressed their strong desire and wish that Iran would soon be freed from the clutches of the mullahs, and Iranians, in particular women and youths, could have the right to celebrate their cultural heritage and national festivals.
